Al Jazeera English (AJE; Arabic: ????????, romanized: al-jazirah, pronounced [æl (d)?æ'zi?r?], literally "The Peninsula", referring to the Qatar Peninsula) is an international 24-hour English-language news channel owned by the Al Jazeera Media Network. It is the first English-language news channel to be headquartered in the Middle East.
